Apply now for EURegionsWeek 2023!

The 21st edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities will take place from 9th to 12th October 2023. Jointly organised by the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the European Commission DG REGIO, #EURegionsWeek will welcome an increased number of participants to onsite sessions and exhibition spaces in Brussels. Applications to become a partner are open until April 11th, 2023!

Since its inception in 2003, the #EURegionsWeek has been promoting the use of EU funds to enhance citizens' daily lives, and has become a unique platform for communication and networking for regions and cities, their political representatives, officials, experts, and academics.

This year's edition, under the motto "Thriving Regions, Stronger Europe", will focus on several themes, including regions in post-industrial transition, retaining talent for regional growth, breaking barriers to cross-border cooperation, small and mid-size urban centers driving growth, local energy shift for security and sustainability, and promoting social innovation.

All these themes are very relevant for rural areas. They represent a significant proportion of the regions in industrial transition, regions facing problems attracting or retaining skilled labour. Cross-border areas are more rural on average. And small towns also play important roles as service hubs in rural areas. Every year, the week features a number of events highlighting the needs and challenges of rural areas.
