Co-creating rural futures: learn about the SHERPA 2023 conference outcomes

The SHERPA annual conference 2023 took place on 31 January and 1st February, bringing together stakeholders from science, society, and policy from across Europe. Participants discussed how to support and develop rural communities by reflecting on the social dimension, digitalisation, climate change and land use, resilient and sustainable value chains in rural areas and the sustainability of the SHERPA Multi-Actor Platform (MAP).

The conference report provides an overview of the project's work, highlighting its contribution to local policies, and discussing the added value of SHERPA MAPs. In addition, the report reflects on how SHERPA and its MAPs can contribute to the long-term vision of EU’s rural areas, including the rural action plan and the Rural Pact, by providing reflections and evidence, suggesting actions, and actively participating in improving the vibrancy of rural areas.
